Days and Hours of Operation

Located at 323 Dundas Street East, the drop-in centre is now open 24 hours 7 days a week due to the cold weather.

 

Structured Programming

Includes daily meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks), a clothing security program, nursing care (every Wednesday), harm reduction, crisis intervention and mental health and justice. The drop-in centre also features a dietetic clinic and chiropodist (every 3rd Thursday of the month), creative art therapy and various wellness speakers.

Wednesday’s and Saturday’s from 11:00am – 1:00pm is dedicated to women’s programming and seniors groups respectively.

 

Extreme Cold Weather Alert

Margaret’s Toronto East Drop-In Centre will be open 24/7 in January and February – as well as during Public Health identified “Extreme Cold Weather Alerts”.  During this period, individuals who are homeless and/or street involved are able to access the centre for warmth, hot meals and beverages and support services including referrals to shelters and long term individual support following the termination of the Extreme Cold Weather Alert.  Given the vulnerability to the elements of the individuals receiving services from the Drop-In Centre and during Extreme Cold Weather Alerts, Margaret’s Toronto East Drop-In Centre is actively seeking donations of the following items:

  • sleeping bags
  • blankets
  • coats
  • socks
  • undergarments
  • hats
  • scarves
  • gloves
