Michael is a solution and results-oriented Finance Director, with a passion to help community based non-profit organizations achieve their goals in an efficient, accountable and transparent way. Risk awareness and good business ethics are also top traits for him.
He has spent many years in senior management roles in the non-profit sector primarily with social services and health related organizations and has a profound enthusiasm and drive to make-a-difference by providing the necessary finance and administrative support to meet organizational goals and objectives.
Strategic networking and relationships building in the non-profit sector over the years have been key elements for him to achieve those goals. He also firmly believes in the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion and approach his business interactions from an anti-racism, anti-oppression framework. Some of his most popular lines are “There are bells and whistles going off as the math is not mathing!” and “there are lots of moving parts with everything, everywhere all at once!”.
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University, FL, USA. He has also taken several professional accounting and business courses to sharpen his skills and stay current.
Living a healthy and active lifestyle, which includes biking on nature trails, playing racquet sports and working out at the local gym are some of the things he enjoys as balance to work.
