The Toronto AFRICAN REFUGEE Crisis – Mobilizing For Dignity
For weeks, we’ve seen firsthand how failed policies have impacted asylum seekers arriving in our city. Groups of refugees and refugee-claimants seeking shelter have been bounced between government referral programs with no real solution in sight. The demand for shelter has exceeded the city’s capacity to house the vulnerable, resulting in many sleeping outside in dire conditions regardless of the elements. The only assistance they received was from the frontline service providers and the kindness of strangers that could provide them with food and basic necessities.
For this reason, we are appealing to the generosity of our community. Your donation can help cover the costs of various emergency accommodations, provide food, clothes, and hygiene supplies.
